Been watching this tv show called Awkward. Simple story line yet really cute. Watched the entire series again with my little sister today and she absolutely loved it. 

I guess one reason why I fell in love with the show is because of the fact that I was reminded of how much of a traditionalist I was when it came to relationships. Jenna was all for the big ask when it came to the winter formal (which I never got as well so I felt for her), and the whole “Will you go out with me?” question.

Today, lots of people who like each other just get together without the big ask. Am I such a cheeseball that I still prefer the big ask rather than the whole, “So I guess we’re boyfriend-girlfriend now”? I’m not saying the latter’s a bad thing but I guess I’m really just a hopeless romantic? I don’t know. 

There’s this boy I’ve liked for a really long time now who, even after the many movie nights we’ve had, would still ask me, “Will you watch a movie with me tomorrow night? :)” It gets me all the time. I mean, it’s a simple question but it definitely beats, “Let’s hang out and watch a movie or something.”

And there are also the other small gestures:

- Opening the car door/any door for me
- Transferring to my right or left side (depends on the flow/counter-flow thing of the cars) when we cross the street.
- Carrying my heavy bags
-  Walking me to my class or wherever I wanna go
- Picking me up from my classroom after class

I can go on and on…but I’m sure you get my drift. 

Coz I know I’m not the only one who is still all for chivalry and whatnot, haha. :P
